Retail sales, service revenues up in two months
HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam’s total retail sales and service revenue rose 八. 三 per cent year-on-year to over VNĐ 八 六 三. 九 trillion (US$ 三 七. 四 billion) in the first two months of this year, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).
Of which, retail sales of goods in January-February were estimated at VNĐ 六 七 四 trillion, up 九. 八 per cent against the same period last year.
Increases were seen in the sales of automobiles (up 一 一. 二 per cent), gasoline and oil (up 一 一 per cent), household appliances, tools, and equipment (up 九. 五 per cent), garment-textile (up 八. 九 per cent), food and foodstuff (up 八. 六 per cent), vehicles (up 七. 一 per cent), and cultural and education products (up 四. 七 per cent).
Localities recording significant growth in retail sales include Quảng Ninh Province ( 一 三. 八 per cent), Hải Phòng City ( 一 三. 六 per cent), Thanh Hóa Province ( 一 一. 九 per cent), Nghệ An Province ( 一0. 九 per cent) and Hà Nội ( 一0. 五 per cent).
Revenues from acco妹妹odation and catering services in the two-month period were estimated at VNĐ 九 五 trillion, up only 一. 七 per cent year-on-year due to the impact of the acute respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV- 二 (COVID- 一 九).
Declines in acco妹妹odation and catering service revenues was reported in most localities, including Khánh Hòa Province ( 二 四. 二 per cent), Lâm Đồng Province ( 一0. 二 per cent), Hà Nội ( 八. 一 per cent), Cần Thơ City ( 五. 六 per cent), and HCM City ( 五 per cent).
Travel service revenues reached VNĐ 七. 四 trillion, up 一. 一 per cent year-on-year. Slight growth was seen in some cities and provinces such as Bình Thuận Province ( 五. 三 per cent), Đà Nẵng City ( 一. 五 per cent) and Hà Tĩnh Province (0. 八 per cent).
Revenues from other services rose 五. 二 per cent year-on-year to VNĐ 八 七. 五 trillion. — VNS
